Warfarin blood tests are done everyday except Friday afternoons after 12pm. Patients are requested to call the surgery for the result of their warfarin blood test. It is important to make an appointment for this clinic at least 3 days in advance.
Family Planning and Contraception
All doctors working in the surgery are able to provide contraceptive advice. This will include advice on the various types, and suitability.
In addition we are able to insert the Implanon contraceptive implant (lasts 3 years), the Mirena Intra Uterine System (lasts 5 years) and the Copper Intra Uterine Device (by appointment only). Men may wish to consider vasectomy as an effective safe form of contraception
We offer a wide range of health assessments and while each one caters for different needs, all are provided on the principle that early detection of illness can mean easier management of the problem and more successful treatment.
Chronic Disease Management Clinics
The Chronic Disease Management programme has been developed in line with international best practice and research. This evidence shows that regular
Maternity care entitles mothers to 6 antenatal and 2 post natal visits free of charge.
Childhood immunisations are given at the surgery from the age of 2 months to 6 years old. (Except BCG). Immunisations can be arranged with our nurses on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Influenza & Pneumonia Vaccinations
All patients over the age of 65 and patients with Diabetes, Cardiac, Renal, Liver or Lung disease need yearly flu vaccination. Clinics start in early September and generally run for 3 months. Vaccination against pneumonia is only given once. (Private Flu vaccinations can be administered for a fixed price).
